New Kid?
My younger sister popped out another child the other day. Taricha has been awfully curious of every noise but thankfully she gets 'it' and has been ever so gentle and quiet when the baby is around.
I dont like kids. I'd much rather dogs. Dogs dont suck your soul away. So here's some more bulldog vs bulldog from the other day.
Mah wrinkles are sexy!

The English are Coming!
Taricha had a date today with a friends English bulldog. His name is Winston and he's the cutest wiggly-thing ever. Winston is half Taricha's height but he's got just as much BULK and has no issue tossing her around. They've taken over the backyard.
Its a good day and we are full of bully smiles!

Empty Parks and Rainy Days
My personal favorite time to visit the big nearby park is when its empty. Like when it's rainy and cold during the weekday. Taricha would rather it be bustling with activity but this gives me the chance to meander about and not worry about anyone or anything bothering us.
Today was silent and still. Barely the sound of birds.

No More Homeless Pets KC
Today's a good afternoon to point out that we love No More Homeless Pets KC I'm pretty new to the dog world and have been so surprised about how friendly, inviting, up to date and COOL everything and everyone have been. NMHPKC is a local affordable Spay & Neuter clinic that recently opened their full time Health clinic and their making great strides around town.
I had Taricha spayed here last year and it's where we visited just yesterday when she was feeling down. Its across the highway and down the street, the facilities are open, inviting, clean. Everyones always been nice and the best part, they take part in all kinds of FUN things around town. .
Just the other night, a friend and I went to a rockabilly show at a local watering hole. Lots of people, bands and vendors.... all a giant benefit for No More Homeless Pets KC and I wasn't aware of this until we arrived there. It was an awesome surprise. People were rocking out, drinking, donating and helping the doggies and people like me... who need to use these kinds of facilities when we're flat broke! Who knew an organization could be this cool? PS. They're totally active on FB and I luff that.

Yay Pills!
camera phone baaad
The vet was great. We were in and out and Taricha had a hell of a time saying hello to everyyyyone. The waiting room was devoid of other animals, but ohhh the peoplepeoplepeoplepeople. She declined to give a urine sample, of course... so the very nice vet sent us on our way with a giant bottle of antibiotics for a, most likely, UTI. So we'll see how that goes.

Random Sickness!
At some point yesterday I noticed Taricha squatting four times in a row to pee. Highly unusual. The rest of the day she continued to ask to go outside frequently and every time, she'd bee 3-4 times in a row. Well she didnt pee every time, being the worried owner I am, inspected every pee and mayyyybbee a drop would come out. Towards the end of the day there were tiny specs of blood in her pee and on her rear. Fuck.
Taricha was acting fine otherwise yesterday, still happy go lucky nothing bothers her! I went and bought cranberry juice thinking this is most likely a urinary tract infection. I managed to trick her into drinking a third gallon via soaking bread and kibble in it. This morning I did the same thing. Then again midday. But all the juice aside.... she's still trying to pee frequently and there is still blood. Now today, I swear she's waddling funny but that could be my imagination since she's always had a funny bulldog waddle.... and she's acting mopey and sad....
Why you look so sad?
One day of this is enough and we are off to the vet in a few hours. I thought we would escape these kind of problems for at least a few more years.... she's still so young!

Gettin Nuts
I dont take Tbags to the dog park very often because its just.... too much, too big, too busy. Then again, sometimes she just needs to let loose and go basaltic. Yesterday was beautifully spring like, rainy and cold, and I figured the park couldn't be that busy, why not go. It was great! Only a handful of other dogs, felt like we had the place to ourselves!
Her funny stalking pose. (doggies heading our way)
The rest of our day was brilliant. She slept and I got to do whatever I wanted!

Magnolia Trees are Icky!
There is a single huge Magnolia tree thing in my front yard. It flowers for about a week all pretty like then in about a single day, dumps everything. As pretty as it is, Taricha didnt like walking all over the wet petals. Utterly refused to sit down for a pretty photo. Life is so hard....
My mailbox is indeed purple.

How to enjoy a nice day
An old toy becomes new with some rope and good weather. Taricha has crazy toy and then dont let go drive. We had some difficulty playing in a small camera-view. Usually we'll rip-roar across the entire yard......

Two houses down has this tiny fluffball that is outside 24/7 and YAPS 24/7..... so I apologize for the YAPPPING in the background!

Woot!
Days like today make all the blood and sweat (often literally) over the past 6 months feel like it's been worth it. Taricha and I jumped in the van with my sister and her kids to head to the park. We'd been to this park many times before but never had it been such a bustle. Taricha chilled with me when I wanted to chill and ran circles around the park when I wanted to run.
Tons of itty bitty children were running a muck in little squeely herds.... Taricha was highly interested at every turn in the kids, but we kept ourselves together and she listened to me... and gave in to chilling out. Distractions? What distractions! Totally. Awesome!

Cant wait to hear about everyone's doggie adventures this warming season!
